Terms & Conditions
The agreement between you and us when you use this website, buy a product or book an appointment.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by makeup_code, Bellavista Street, San Ġwann, Malta. You can reach us at hello@makeup-code.com. In these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean makeup_code; “you” means the person using the website or placing an order.
2. These terms
By using this website, placing an order or booking an appointment you accept these Terms. Please read them before you order. We may update them from time to time; the version in force is the one published here when you place your order.
3. Products and services
We sell makeup and skincare products and provide professional makeup services and courses. Product images and shade descriptions are shown as accurately as we can, but colours vary between screens and a small difference is not a defect.
4. Orders
Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we confirm the order by email. If a product turns out to be unavailable, or we have made an obvious pricing error, we may decline the order and will refund you in full.
5. Prices and payment
Prices are in euro and include VAT at the applicable rate unless stated otherwise. Delivery costs are shown before you confirm. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your card number.
6. Appointments and deposits
A booking is confirmed once we accept it and, where a deposit applies, once the deposit is paid. A deposit secures the artist’s time and is deducted from the final price. Please tell us at least 48 hours in advance if you need to move or cancel an appointment; a deposit for an appointment cancelled with less notice may be retained, as the time can rarely be filled.
7. Bridal and event bookings
Bridal and event work is agreed in writing, including the date, the location, the number of people and the arrival time. Because these dates are held exclusively for you, the deposit for a bridal or event booking is non-refundable, though we will always try to move a date where we possibly can.
8. Courses
Access to a digital course is personal to you and may not be shared, resold, recorded or redistributed. Places in an in-person course are limited; where a course has a fixed start date, the withdrawal right in our Returns Policy applies until the course begins.
9. Your responsibilities
Please tell us before any service about allergies, sensitivities, recent treatments or skin conditions. We use professional, hygienically maintained products and tools, but we cannot be responsible for a reaction we were not told about.
10. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these Terms. We do not exclude or limit our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that may not be limited by law. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Intellectual property
All content on this website — text, photographs, portfolio images, course material and the makeup_code branding — belongs to us or our licensors and may not be copied or reused without written permission.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malta. Disputes may be brought before the Maltese courts. As an EU consumer you may also use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform.
